White Rabbit, part of the Orion Publishing Group, is to publish Believe in Magic: 30 Years of Heavenly Recordings, written by Robin Turner and designed by Paul Kelly.
Lee Brackstone acquired world English rights from Heavenly Recordings. Publication is scheduled for 12th November 2020.
Heavenly Recordings was founded by Jeff Barrett in 1990, with the first release being from DJ Andrew Weatherall, quickly followed by singles from Saint Etienne and The Manic Street Preachers.
The book features 30 stories mostly told by artists such as James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers), Beth Orton, Doves, Gwenno and Don Letts, with the aim to "capture the presiding personality of the label, its bands and the people associated with its story".
Two special editions of the book will also be available with limited runs of 500 copies each. One will feature a seven-inch single by Saint Etienne and the second will feature a 12-minute track by Working Men’s Club. All three editions will be fully illustrated and include a map of London's "Heavenly Hotspots" by Herb Lester.
