Crime writer Neil White will be moving from Bonnier Books UK to Hera Books, the newly formed digital publisher in the New Year. The move sees White reunited with editor Keshini Naidoo, who first published him at Avon.
Brokered by Sonia Land of Sheil Land Associates in an “unprecedented deal”, according to the agency, Neil’s third unpublished book, along with the first two books originally published by Bonnier, From the Shadows and The Darkness Around Her, will be reissued by Hera in January. The third as-yet-untitled title will be published in April.
"Hera forms the ideal home to create a Neil White brand and propel him to the top of the digital bestseller lists once again", the publisher said.
After Avon, Naidoo went on to work at Bookouture before leaving in July and forming the female-fronted digital-first publisher Hera Books, with Lindsey Mooney, formerly UK content lead for Kobo. The pair unveiled the new venture in August and recently announced Hera’s first acquisition, a Bollywood thriler from Alex Khan.
Keshini said: “I was lucky enough to work with Neil at the start of my career, so it feels incredible to close the circle and be publishing his books once again. As a long-standing admirer of Neil’s novels, his major market lies in the digital landscape and I can’t wait to bring a fresh approach to publishing his already successful Dan Grant series.”
White had moved to Bonnier in a six-figure www.thebookseller.com/news/white-moves-bonnier-six-figure-deal-308897">deal in 2015, having previously been published by Sphere and Avon.
