Wildfire has snapped up Katie Williams’ new speculative thriller in which a serial killer’s victim is brought back to life as a clone and investigates her own murder.
Publisher Jack Butler acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to My Murder from Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein on behalf of Doug Stewart at Sterling Lord Literistic. It will be published in hardback in the US by Sarah McGrath at Riverhead Books on 6th June.
My Murder follows Lou, who is brought back to life as a clone after she is murdered, the publisher’s synopsis begins. “Now, Lou and the killer’s four other victims gather at a weekly support group, helping each other navigate a society obsessed with their very existence. But when she receives a shocking revelation that causes her to investigate her murder for herself, Lou finally begins to question everything she—and the world—knows about her death.”
Butler said: “We are incredibly excited to be publishing Katie Williams’ superb thriller. With the depth and sharpness of Black Mirror by way of Sarah Pinborough, I’m confident that fans of suspense will absolutely devour this speculative twist on the genre as many early readers have already.”
Williams, who is the author of Tell the Machine Goodnight (Riverhead) as well as two YA novels, said: “I’m thrilled to be working with Wildfire and grateful for the amazing authors who have voiced their early support for the novel.”
