Wildfire has signed a new deal with Amanda Reynolds for her third "addictive" book. Scheduled to publish in spring 2019, the as-yet-untitled thriller centres on a troubled young journalist who tries to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of a wealthy and beautiful wife of a successful novelist.
Reynolds' agent, Sarah Williams at Sophie Hicks Agency, described the new novel "gripping, seductive and utterly addictive". Wildfire acquired UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada).
Reynolds has two other books with the Headline imprint. Her debut, Close to Me, was the first publication on the Wildfire list. Her second novel, Lying to You, another domestic drama, publishes in paperback on 26th July.
Editorial director Kate Stephenson called Reynolds "a dream author to work with", praising her work ethic and "heart in your mouth" writing.
"She is incredibly hard-working and brimming with ideas, and the quality of her writing speaks for itself," said Stephenson. "She always perfectly captures the darkness that can lurk beneath the surface of ordinary people’s lives, and each novel sends you tumbling through the rabbit hole, heart in your mouth, as you try and work out the truth. We are so pleased to be continuing our wonderful relationship with her."
Reynolds said: "I am thrilled that, after such an enjoyable and productive experience working with Wildfire on my first two books, they will now be publishing my third. The Wildfire team are such passionate supporters of me and my books and I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with them."
