William Collins has invested in a “dynamic and jargon-busting" practical guide to personal finance by financial adviser and media personality, Emmanuel Asuquo.
Bengono Bessala, commissioning editor, acquired world all languages rights to Get Your Money Right from Oscar Janson-Smith at Gleam Futures. Publication will be in 2023.
Get Your Money Right aims to prove that learning about money doesn’t have to be boring – and it is vital, especially in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis. Asuquo grew up in Tower Hamlets, where nobody talked about money, looking at Canary Wharf, where he thought everybody talked about it all day. The book will explain the basics of finance from the UK credit system to pensions, how to protect your assets, generation wealth and setting up a side hustle, as well as guidance on getting a money mindset, building good financial habits and how to spend and save.
Bessala said: “Acquiring Emmanuel’s book during the ongoing living crisis gives me reassurance that there are financial experts out there trying their best to help us all out in this uncertainty. Emmanuel has an ability to speak honestly but with great experience and authority. He wants us all to understand ourselves emotionally and financially. His message, that accessible and understandable financial education should be for the many and not the few, really resonated with me.”
Asuquo added: “This is honestly such a proud moment for me. I never would have imagined this day would come. Being able to give my voice to a book that can help people, especially given the current economic crisis, has been such a privilege. I believe this book will be a guide that is passed down from generation to generation and will help people across the world.”
