William Collins seals deal from the creator of meditation podcast 'GABA Life'

William Collins has sealed a deal for an audiobook by Adam Martin, the creator of the meditation podcast "GABA Life".

Senior audio editor, Jessica Barnfield, negotiated the deal for world English-language rights from Sara O’Keeffe at Aevitas Creative Management.  

Publication is set for next spring with a companion print title scheduled for autumn 2022, led by commissioning editor Grace Pengelly.  

The "GABA Life" podcast combines music, poetry, memoir and archival recordings to create immersive meditations. The audiobook will feature 12 brand new meditations, looking at our relationship with the natural world. 

Barnfield said: “Like so many others, 'GABA' became a must-listen for me during lockdown and opened up a completely new way of approaching meditation and mindfulness. I’m excited to bring Adam’s voice to the William Collins list, and to work with him on creating this unique audiobook that I know will become essential daily listening for so many people.” 

Martin added: “I was truly inspired by the vision Jessica Barnfield and Grace Pengelly brought to 'GABA'. Helping to envision an audiobook and companion book with scope to surprise and delight. The mantra I like to teach in the podcast seems most apt; 'I am exactly where I need to be'.'”
