Weidenfeld & Nicolson (W&N) has won an eight-way auction to acquire Everybody Loves Our Dollars, an exposé of the secrets of global money laundering by bestselling investigative journalist Oliver Bullough, author of Moneyland and Butler to the World.
Publishing director, Ed Lake bought UK and Commonwealth excluding Canada rights from Karolina Sutton at CAA.
Everybody Loves Our Dollars, “a perspective-altering adventure through the flipside of the global economy”, will be published in hardback in January 2026.
Bullough said: “Donald Trump has promised to crush the cartels, which means he’s going to have to do something no US president has ever managed to do – cut off their money flows. My new book goes back to the beginning of anti-money laundering efforts and reveals that they have always failed, because politicians have never properly understood what they’re up against. No one’s ever told this story before, and I couldn’t be more delighted to be telling it with W&N.”
Lake said: “Oliver is the great explainer of our kleptocratic age, whose fearless reporting and righteous afflictions of the comfortable are always delivered with such verve and humour that it can take a moment to notice just how serious his diagnoses are. This is our third book together, our first at Orion, and it’s his most extraordinary, urgent yet.”
