Wonderbly, the publisher of the personalised Lost My Name books, is partnering with animation studio Sixteen South and Walker’s Helen McAleer to create a TV series.
McAleer, founder of Walker Productions, will act as executive producer for the show, which is about helping pre-school children overcome the challenges they face growing up.
Wonderbly said the partnership is part of a long-term publishing and franchise strategy to develop the Lost My Name world. Alongside Sixteen South, they will pitch the show to broadcasters later in the summer.
Asi Sharabi, co-founder and c.e.o of Wonderbly, said: “We were looking for a while for the right creative partner to embark on this new adventure and Sixteen South’s heartfelt and exuberant approach to children’s animation, coupled with remarkable attention to detail, is exactly what we were looking for. We are immensely excited to work with Colin Williams [creative director of Sixteen South Studios] and his incredibly talented team.”
McAleer added: “I am incredibly excited to be working on such a brilliant series for Wonderbly. The partnering of Wonderbly and Sixteen South is a superb match and together they are creating something truly special.”
Wonderbly started life as a tech start-up in 2012. At the time, the company was known as Lost My Name, like the personalised picture book it publishes. It changed its name last year.
The company intends to publish a new book set in July.
