Greenpeace ambassador and former Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright's guide to changing habits and living more sustainably has been signed by Quercus imprint Greenfinch.
Publisher Kerry Enzor acquired UK and Commonwealth rights for Go Gently from the Genert Company via Anna Carmichael at Abner Stein. It will be published on 19th April 2022.
Wright played the role of Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, and has for the past decade become widely recognised as an environmental activist, garnering a loyal Instagram following of 3.2 million people.
The publisher said: “Go Gently is a guide for sustainability at home that offers simple, tangible steps toward reducing our environmental impact by looking at what we consume and the waste we create, as well as how to take action for environmental change. The title reflects Bonnie’s belief that the best way to change our planet and ourselves is through a gentle approach, rather than a judgmental one. This is a book of do’s rather than don’ts.”
Wright said: “I wrote this book from my own experience of becoming involved in the climate movement. I was called to share with you the intimate and individual actions I was taking quietly at home in order to have a more tangible relationship to the climate crisis.”
Enzor added: “Bonnie’s inspiring guide offers a holistic and personal approach to living sustainably—and breaks down the jargon around recycling and materials to give the reader tools to make smart decisions about how and what they consume.”
