Yellow Kite has acquired a new cookbook by Ella Mills, Deliciously Ella: Healthy Made Simple, to be published on 4th January 2024.
This book is the first in a new two book world rights deal, acquired by Yellow Kite executive publisher Liz Gough, from Cathryn Summerhayes at Curtis Brown. Deliciously Ella: Healthy Made Simple will be published simultaneously in the US and Australia.
The publisher says Healthy Made Simple will feature more than 75 “simple, vibrant”, plant-based recipes that take less than 30 minutes to make, in no more than five simple steps, and contain 10 ingredients or fewer.
It goes on: “The flavourful recipes will incorporate new ideas for speedy, fuss-free breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and are devoted to making healthy eating easier. There’s no denying the challenge or the pressure to continuously look after your wellbeing, carve out time to exercise, manage your stress, cook healthy meals, get enough sleep and make time for your friends, all while juggling life’s other many demands.
“Ella wants to make eating well every day a joy, and in Healthy Made Simple she gives you the tools you need to unlock a healthier life.”
According to the publisher, Mills has now sold close to 1.5 million books worldwide. Her Deliciously Ella food range has launched more than 100 plant-based food products into stores across the UK and globally, with customers including Tesco, Ocado, Morrisons, Waitrose, Holland & Barrett, Boots, Sainsburys and more.
On TCM UK Bookscan, the Deliciously Ella books are on 852,823 copies sold for £9.7m, with her biggest seller the original Deliciously Ella, on 335,876 copies sold in hardback.
Mills said: “‘When I sat down to write the first draft of Healthy Made Simple, I knew exactly what I wanted to do: to make eating well genuinely feel like a joy. This is a book dedicated to delicious flavours packed with goodness that will help you get healthy food on the table in less time, with less work and with fewer ingredients. I’m incredibly excited to be working again with the team at Yellow Kite and Hodder to bring these recipes to life.”
Oliver Malcolm, m.d. of Hodder and Stoughton, said: “Healthy Made Simple is undoubtedly Ella’s best book to date. The recipes are concise, clear and easy to follow, and can fit around the busiest of schedules. We can’t wait to kickstart 2024 with this exciting new release.”
