HarperCollins is to publish Eat Smart, the debut cookbook from blogger and entrepreneur Niomi Smart.
Smart’s "passion" is healthy food and her most popular YouTube video series, ‘What I Eat in a Day’, inspires a global audience of millions to look, live and feel better, the publisher has said. Recently Smart launched a new business, SourcedBox, which delivers "innovative, healthy" food and snacks. Her cookbook will compile her favourite recipes to show readers the "smart way to eat".
Smart has 1.5m YouTube subscribers and 1.6m followers on Instagram and her title entered the number one spot on Amazon.co.uk's bestseller list based on pre-orderds alone on the day it was announced (18th April).
Publishing director Grace Cheetham acquired world rights from Gleam Futures.
Cheetham said: “We're thrilled to be publishing Niomi. She is an amazing voice in the healthy eating area, and she's created a brilliant array of recipes that will strike the perfect note for her fans and for everyone. Niomi is a standout author and we'll be launching her with a hugely creative and energetic sales, marketing and publicity campaign.”
Smart said: “I have spent the last couple of years creating my own recipes at home, all made with health and wellness at the forefront of my mind but in no way lacking from flavour or indulgence. Creating a meal from scratch using fresh, wholesome ingredients couldn’t be more rewarding. It’s amazing how much happier, more energised and healthy you feel eating this way."
She added: "Up until now, the recipes I have created have only been enjoyed by my friends and family, some inspired by my travels, some inspired by traditional comfort food. I had been keeping most of the recipes to myself but now, I am so excited to have the opportunity to share them with you.”
Eat Smart will be published by HarperCollins on 8th September 2016.
