Quadrille Publishing has acquired a YouTuber's debut explaining why science is "so awesome".
Charlie McDonnell's "Fun Science" YouTube channel explaining science to the "internet generation" became the first in the UK to reach 1m subscribers, according to the publisher. He now has 2.4m subscribers, averaging 2m hits per video, it said.
The deal for worldwide rights was done by Sarah Lavelle and Romilly Morgan from Quadrille and Emily Shanks and Simon Chambers at Storm Vision.
McDonnell said: "In my book, I'll be taking you on an awesome journey through the cosmos, beginning with the Big Bang through to the Solar System and the origins of life on Earth, all the way down to the particles that make up everything around us (including you and me)."
Fun Science: A Guide to Life, the Universe & Why Science is so Awesome will be published in hardback on 6th October 2016, priced £14.99.
