Zaffre has landed début author E S Drake’s fantasy trilogy, billed as “Good Omens” meets “The Good Place”.
Senior commissioning editor Kelly Smith acquired world English-language rights from Gyamfia Osei at Andrew Nurnberg Associates. The first book, Acts of Cupidity, will be published in hardback, audio and e-book in spring 2025.
The series follows “two agents of love ensnared in a plot to bring down the natural order of the world”.
Smith said: “Acts of Cupidity is the perfect book to escape into. Readers will be charmed by the grump/sunshine of Agents Grover and Hart as they try to save the world, while laughing along at the absurdity of the apocalypse involving an abundance of geese and an eventual end to the DFS sale. It’s utterly addictive and a début to watch out for.”
Drake added: “I am absolutely delighted to be working with the fantastic team at Bonnier, who have been nothing but welcoming and supportive. I’m so excited for this upcoming adventure in publishing, far beyond over the moon, I have definitely reached the rings of Saturn by now.”
