Bonnier Books’ flagship adult fiction imprint Zaffre has signed "unmissable" thriller The Mother by T M Logan.
Sophie Orme, publishing director for Zaffre, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Camilla Bolton at Darley Anderson for publication in time for Mother’s Day 2023.
The news of Logan’s upcoming title was announced during a midnight live stream from the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate on 23rd July, followed by “an up-all-night celebration".
Zaffre’s synopsis for the book reads: “After being accused of her husband’s murder, a woman will go to extraordinary lengths to clear her name and get her children back…”
According to the publisher, Logan’s books have collectively sold more than 1.5 million copies in the UK, and are published in 18 countries around the world. His Richard & Judy Book Club pick The Holiday (Zaffre) was adapted for TV, while an adaptation of The Catch (Zaffre) is currently being filmed.
Logan said: “I can’t wait for The Mother to be out there in readers’ hands. I really think it’s my best book yet. It was so exciting to announce it in Harrogate at the weekend!”
Orme said Logan has become "one of the biggest and most well-respected thriller authors in the market” and his rise had been one of the highlights of her career so far.
“As T M’s readers will attest, his books just get better and better and I cannot wait for them to pick up The Mother in March 2023, an unmissable thriller about the extraordinary lengths a mother will go to for her children,” she said.
Bolton added: “T M Logan has done it again. The Mother is an incredible, high-octane thriller with a huge emotional punch that will keep you up all night. He is at the forefront of contemporary commercial standalone thrillers and pushes the genre with each novel.
“The Holiday was at the head of this current escapism crime thriller trend, and The Mother takes the everyday role of parenthood and pushes it out of a suspense arena and straight into the big thriller world.”
