Zaffre has acquired UK Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, in two new crime thrillers by author David Fennell.
Ben Willis, publishing director for crime and thriller, bought the third and fourth books in the DI Grace Archer series in a deal brokered by David Headley of D H H Literary Agency. The first in the deal, The Silent Man, will be published in hardback, e-book and audio in September 2023.
Fennell said: “I’m thrilled to continue writing the Archer and Quinn thrillers at Zaffre. I’m also excited to bring the next instalment: The Silent Man. A family is murdered at home in the dead of night. Yet one child remains alive and well. When a second family suffers the same fate, Archer is under pressure to find the killer before the Silent Man strikes again.”
Willis said: “David is a real rising star in UK crime fiction, and consistently delivers brilliantly twisty, clever and page-turning thrillers. Detective Grace Archer is a complex and memorable character, and I can’t wait to bring her to even more readers in the coming years.”
