Zephyr, the new children's imprint at Head of Zeus, has bought a young fiction series by Carnegie Medal winning author Sally Gardner.
The first book, Mr Tiger, Betsy and the Blue Moon, is about the adventures of Betsy K Glory who, along with the mysterious Tiger, faces the enormous challenge of trying to turn the moon blue. It will be published in October with books two and three to follow at a later date.
The series will be illustrated by Nick Maland.
Publisher Fiona Kennedy, who bought world rights from Catherine Clarke at Felicity Bryan Associates and artists’ agent Alison Eldred, said: “Sally has such an imagination and her new series about Mr Tiger and Betsy is ‘wishable-delicious’ and shows her writing at the peak of her powers. Nick’s glorious art makes these books irresistible. They make a great team and it’s a delight to be working with them both.”
Gardner is also published by Hot Key Books, a division of Bonnier Zaffre, and won the Carnegie Medal in 2013 for Maggot Moon.
